Two nights of fireworks highlight Cedar Point’s Fourth of July celebration

SANDUSKY, Ohio – To celebrate the Fourth of July holiday, Cedar Point will present eye-popping fireworks on two nights:  Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4th.

The fireworks displays are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on both evenings.

During the holiday weekend, the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort will also be open later each evening so there will be even more time to enjoy the fun and festivities.  On Sunday, July 3, Cedar Point will be open until 1 a.m. giving guests nearly three more hours to enjoy all the park’s rides and attractions after the fireworks display comes to a close. The park will also be open until 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 and Monday, July 4.

In addition to the fireworks displays, special entertainment, delicious meals and money-saving deals will also be available throughout the weekend.

For additional savings, Starlight Admission, beginning at 5 p.m., is only $29.99 and is good for almost eight hours of fun on Sunday evening.

Fourth of July Fireworks
On two nights, Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4, Cedar Point will set the sky ablaze with amazing colors and lights with their spectacular fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m. each night.

Presented by Zambelli Internationale, Inc., of New Castle, Pa., one of the oldest and largest companies in fireworks displays in the United States, the program is synchronized to patriotic music.

Salute to the Armed Forces
Cedar Point will salute members of the armed forces, Saturday through Monday, July 2-4.  Any active, honorably-discharged or retired member of the military with a valid ID can receive one free regular admission ticket valid for one day during the holiday weekend. They may also purchase discounted tickets for members of their immediate family for only $37.99.

Special Entertainment
On Saturday, July 2, the Singing Angels, Cleveland’s world-famous children’s choir, will be performing by the fountain on the Main Midway. This non-profit coral youth group consists of 120 students who range in age from 8 to 18. They will be performing from 9:40 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Point Patrol Giveaways
For additional excitement, the park’s Point Patrol will be distributing prizes at select live shows from Friday through Monday.  Giveaways will include prizes from Red Gold Ketchup, Toft’s Ice Cream and Johnsonville.

Great Eats
Back by popular demand will be the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill.  From Friday through Monday, July 1-4, the world’s largest touring grill will be at Cedar Point cooking up Johnsonville bratwursts in front of the Dodgems from 11 a.m. to closing each day.
Hungry guests will also be able to enjoy a good-old-fashion all-you-can-eat picnic with broiled Johnsonville Brats, fried chicken, hot dogs, baked rigatoni, potato salad, baked beans, cookies, ice cream and ice-cold Pepsi beverages.  Picnic at the Point will be served Saturday through Monday, July 2-4, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Coral Courtyard.

For a different start to the morning, the Breakfast Buffet with the PEANUTS Characters will be available Friday through Monday, July 1-4.  Serving scrambled eggs and pancakes to fruit and yogurt, dining with Snoopy and the Gang is a memorable experience for the whole family.  The all-you-can-eat buffet will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Midway Market on the park’s main midway. Admission to Cedar Point is required.

Cedar Point now offering Lake Erie cruises

SANDUSKY, Ohio – There are two new ways to experience the sights and sounds of Cedar Point, the Lake Erie waterfront as well as the many exciting attractions of the North Coast.

Based out of the Cedar Point Marina, the Sandusky Riverboat Company and North Coast Excursions are now offering two different boating services:  paddlewheel boat tours and personalized cruises. Both of these services will be offered every day during the summer through the end of Cedar Point’s daily operating season. The paddlewheel boat cruises will operate from noon to 9 p.m. daily, while North Coast Excursions will be scheduled based upon personal preference.

The 40-minute paddlewheel boat trips will take passengers on a relaxing voyage along Sandusky Bay and will provide beautiful views of the Lake Erie shoreline, the Cedar Point Marina and Cedar Point including picturesque looks at the Maverick, Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster roller coasters.

Guests will board the Winnebago, one of the paddlewheel boats used on Cedar Point’s Western Cruise boat ride that operated in the park for nearly 40 years. The Winnebago holds up to 49 passengers and will be docked next to Famous Dave’s in the Cedar Point Marina. Reservations are recommended but not required.

The cost for the paddlewheel cruises will be $10 for adults and $5 for Juniors (ages 5-12), while Seniors (age 62 and over), active and retired members of the armed forces and Cedar Fair Platinum Passholders can purchase tickets for $8.

There will also be special Fireworks Cruises on the Winnebago on Sunday and Monday, July 3 & 4 from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  Cedar Point will present holiday fireworks displays on both nights beginning at 10 p.m. (weather permitting).  The cost of these cruises is $16 for adults.  Reservations for these special trips are recommended.  Reservations can be made by calling the Cedar Point Marina at 419.627.2334.

At North Coast Excursions, passengers can create a customized cruise aboard a 31-foot Tiara.  These cruises allow boaters to select their own itinerary for an afternoon or evening cruise or even a full-day adventure.

These personalized excursions are ideal for entertaining family, friends or clients.  Possible itineraries include sunset cruises, trips to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Kelley’s Island, Put-in-Bay or simply enjoying the beauty of Lake Erie to cater to specific requests and needs.

July 1 – 5:

  • All members of the military can get into Cedar Point FREE with valid identification. This includes active, retired, veterans & honorably discharged service men & women. Valid at Cedar Point only.
  • See the Firelands Chorus perform patriotic favorites at 1 p.m. near the Extreme Sports Stadium.
  • Meet former Ohio State linebacker and Super Bowl Winner Mike Vrabel at 12 noon in front of the Game Day Grille.

Fireworks, Food and Fun Highlight Cedar Point’s Fourth of July Weekend

SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 28 — Special entertainment, delicious meals, and money saving deals will be available at Cedar Point during the Fourth of July Weekend, Thursday through Monday, July 1-5.

Guests will even have a few extra hours to enjoy the Independence Day festivities at Cedar Point as the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort will be open until 1 a.m. on Sunday, July 4.  That leaves nearly three hours to enjoy all of the park’s rides and attractions after the fireworks display ends.  Plus, Starlight Admission, beginning at 5 p.m., is only $29.99 for eight hours of fun and excitement!

Cedar Point resort guests can purchase one-day tickets for $29 and Starlight Admission tickets for $14.99, a savings of $15 per ticket.

Fourth of July Fireworks

A spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display will light up the sky beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Presented by Zambelli Internationale, Inc., of New Castle, Pa., one of the oldest and largest companies in fireworks displays in the United States, the program is synchronized to patriotic music.  (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks show will be rescheduled for Monday, July 5.)

In addition to the fireworks, Starlight Experience, the park’s themed lighted walkway along the Frontier Trail that uses more than one million LED lights, will be in operation until the Maverick and Millennium Force roller coasters close for the evening.  At 11 p.m., Hot Summer Lights featuring music, video, pyrotechnics and “Firewater,” bursts of flames that climb 25 feet into the air, will be presented.  (Excluding July 4, Hot Summer Lights is presented nightly at 10 p.m.)

Cedar Point and its unmatched collection of rides and roller coasters will be open until 1 a.m. on the evening of July 4.  The park will also be open until 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 3.

For an added treat, Cleveland Browns sensation Josh Cribbs will be at the park on Sunday.  From noon to 1 p.m., Cribbs, who makes his own fireworks, will meet guests and sign autographs near the Game Day Grille, just off the park’s main midway by the Blue Streak roller coaster.

Salute to the Armed Forces

Cedar Point will salute members of the armed forces on Sunday and Monday, July 4-5.  On either day, any active, honorably-discharged or retired member of the military can receive one free admission ticket for themselves.

Great Meal Deals

Guests with an appetite should be sure to purchase a brat from the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill, which will be located on the midway in front of Dodgems. Brats will be served from 11 a.m. until park closing Thursday through Monday.

On Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4, guests can enjoy more great food at the Picnic at the Point in the Coral Courtyard. The Picnic at the Point will feature an all-you-can-eat meal of broiled Johnsonville brats, fried chicken, hot dogs, baked rigatoni, potato salad, baked beans, cookies, ice cream and assorted Pepsi beverages The meal will be available from 4-5:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 4:30-6 p.m. on Sunday.  Tickets can be purchased online at cedarpoint.com or at the park’s admission gates.

Special Entertainment

The weekend will be filled with special guests and entertainment.  On Saturday, July 3, the Cleveland Cavalier’s Scream Team will perform from 1-1:30 pm and 2-2:30 p.m. near the WildCat and Iron Dragon roller coasters.

The Firelands Chorus will perform patriotic songs from 1-1:20 p.m. on Monday, July 5, on the chorus stage by the Extreme Sports Stadium. Also on Monday, former Ohio State University linebacker and Super Bowl Winner Mike Vrabel will meet guests and sign autographs from noon to 1 p.m. in front of the Game Day Grille restaurant near the Blue Streak roller coaster.

Point Patrol Giveaways at Shows

Besides the rides and special attractions, Cedar Point’s entertainment lineup also includes classic summer hits from Jimmy Buffet and Gloria Estefan, toe-tappin’ country tunes, and a real-life version of MTV Games’ Rock Band video game.  There is even an ice-skating show starring Snoopy and a high-energy stunt show with gravity-defying rollerbladers, gymnasts and dancers.

For added excitement, the park’s Point Patrol will be distributing prizes at select live shows on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Giveaways will include prizes from Red Gold Ketchup (Friday only) and gift cards from Hard Rock Cafe, Perkins Restaurant and Bakery and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland.  Coupons for Shearer’s Potato Chips, Toft’s Ice Cream and Johnsonville Brat products will also be given away.
